Firstly, although a week delayed … I have not had a chance to say, “Happy
October” to you! Most of us will soon be ushering in the autumn season, at
least those of us within the Northern Hemisphere. And, admittedly aside from
spring, autumn is in fact one of my favourite times of the year, so I am
completely excited to fully welcome it. Then, there’s the delight of creating new
recipes, and perusing through old family cookbooks for other seasonal culinary favourites.
In true Fashion Tales
spirit, I thought it best to bring you a dash of colour, as well as subtlety bring
out a few layering options.
One of the benefits of having to be in many locations at
times is that you have all four seasons, and you must be prepared to dress for every type of climate.
Therefore, I constantly have a scarf in my handbag, and a jacket, or cardigan
somewhere within reach (usually on the back of my chair) somewhere.
Now that the season is nearing a chill and briskness that my wardrobe adores, I will be able to wear all of my leather jackets to my heart’s satisfaction.
Here’s another autumn inspired sustainable look from the
Gudrun Sjödén collection. This crinkled dress has hand-sewn smocking on the
bodice, and a self-tie in the back—I wore it criss-crossed, tying it in the front
and back. The plum or cranberry-esque colour of the dress was one of my favourite pairings with the patterned tights. It also gave
me the autumn feeling with the pumpkin hued boots. I will probably wear this look with a layered scarf combination as well.
What are you most excited about for autumn?
I am finally getting back into the swing of things, but stay tuned; I still have a few snapshots to share from my little artful travelling jaunt.

That is such a lovely dress! It's funny, burgundy colours always get more wear from me when it's cooler weather – they are great for autumn! 🙂
We are in spring now though in Australia – layering is still good advice though for these in-between seasons! 🙂
