Interior Edits

We are in the process of renovating a few rooms of the house, so I am basically staying in our annexe whenever I am not away for work. I’ve learnt that updating an older home is not without its battles, especially when you want modern fixtures and amenities of varying degrees.

With certain changes to any home or living space, there is usually a lot of frustration involving measurements and fabrications, to say the least. Not to mention, being unable to get specific pieces that you’ve had your eye on for months. Then tears fall down your face in disbelief, because the items that you’ve been coveting are out of stock! At that point, it’s either a waiting game or it’s time to seek inspiration elsewhere. Of course, I went for the latter.

I don’t get too irritated anymore because it merely allows me to be inspired more than ever, especially for home DIYs! There’s always bits of influence for reconstructions, crafts, style revamps and massive home research for new projects. With that said, here are a handful of some homeware elements—this is a glimpse of favourites that have caught my eye lately.

Some of my personal favourites are pendants and chandeliers. From elaborate to simple farmhouse styles, there’s such an incredible opportunity for us to add modern touches to the home, yet meet in the middle with my beloved rustic-luxury aesthetic with unique finishes. In fact, I really adore the mounted bedside Hollister vanity lamps (seen above) and the idea of a marble area rug (seen below), which is surprising since I’ve been gravitating to less modern designs lately for the entry room and bedrooms.

This blush sofa is a heavenly beauty to adorn any room with a dash of colour and, the wooden framed floor mirrors (in gold, mahogany and ivory) is always a smart choice in bedrooms in my opinion.

What style of furnishings do you have in your home? Do you have a theme?
