Although it’s not officially winter, it doesn’t mean that you can’t get into the spirit with winter décor. There’s nothing like a bit of holiday decorating to get you in the festive mood (consciously imparting Hygge, obviously), especially with creative Nordic accents.
I’m back again with charming tablescape décor for Talking Tables, and this time I decided on a blended theme with a modern Scandinavian twist to showcase their AW17 collection.
To start, I used a woodland theme and paired it with earthy hues and white accents for the conceptual theme. There’s a medley of influence—sophisticated but humbly approachable with the use of paper and plastic ware. It’s cosy and incredibly inviting for winter entertaining; you can save your fine dinnerware for Christmas.
Whilst you’re by the fireside warming your hands from the cold, your guests will be ushered into a slightly rustic table of wintry calm. In the spirit of Christmas, these decorations evoke nature’s wintry vibes in various ways. There are also unique handmade elements such as the themed ribbon and garland, which makes it easy to incorporate for elegant occasions or simplify for a more minimal aesthetic.
Whether you’re a minimalist or adore the elaborate and lavish, there’s something for everyone in this Nordic collection to enjoy.
Of course, in our home, it wouldn’t be Christmas without a variety of crackers at the table. These iridescent Christmas crackers will add a touch of sparkle to your tablescape—I liked them specifically for merging both gold and silver with my theme. I dressed the wall in a fun Christmas garland, then added some decorative honeycombs to hang.
Talking Tables makes some of the best paper products for entertaining, and I couldn’t pass on the gilded foiled doilies and ornate bowls with golden-edged trim. As you can tell, I had a lovely time styling this one, especially with my new birch trees that my mum sent me. Also, how adorable is the snowflake votive? I almost fell off my unicorn when I found out that I had the last one. Now, you may purchase them here.
My top three favourites would have to be the polar bear snow globe, honeycomb wall décor, and the Scandinavian-inspired ribbon, which are great gift wrap trimmings.
I hope you were inspired to take it a bit easy this holiday season, at the very least enjoy cosiness in your own way, whether it’s alone, with friends or with your significant other.
Soon, it will be time to prepare for the new year before you know it but let’s talk about that at a later time.
What do you think of my cosy Nordic tablescape?
