There’s nothing better than having a wintry party theme — warm elements that embody the festive season — with an inviting setting! Give your friends and family fun options with indulgent toppings, party snacks and an exciting adventure theme.
Although this particular theme is a bit more casual than my usual setups, I really love the idea of having a gathering for hot cocoa, tea or even an espresso corner (which we have done in the past).
I sort of went overboard with the lodge-style theme because I wanted to enlist some DIY pieces that I worked on earlier this month for this post. You can get crafty by using wooden alphabet letters as I did here in the Lodge Express sign that I created, then with washi tape, I decorated a foam board and used my printer for the rest. Simple, creative and festive? Sorted.
The best part is that this party theme isn’t strictly for holiday, the concept can be used at weddings, birthdays and many other occasions.
What To Serve:
You can serve campfire classics or simplified gourmet foods. I went for a hybrid of teatime and a modern version of lodge ‘after supper’ treats, of course sans being on the slopes at all. From freshly made biscuits to air-popped gourmet popcorn, salty and sweet and everything in-between made it to the table. Go healthier with a dose of homemade granola and dark chocolate bites.
You can opt for various offerings (in syrup or cream flavours) if you are serving coffee, espresso drinks or assorted toppings for hot cocoa, seasonal loose teas or a variety of tea bags.
More DIYs:

Playful Design Elements:
I happen to adore this theme because I have a deep adoration for woodland aesthetics and bringing outdoor elements inside (the home).
With a blended medley of rustic and contemporary charm, it is not difficult to go the extra mile with themed design accents and accessories or have laidback décor for your table. Adding glass pieces, such as this apothecary trio made the décor have somewhat of a [slightly] sophisticated touch, especially since I wanted to use my new brass lanterns.
You can easily outfit your party table as I did here with the following accouterments: stag stencilled pillows, décor props, and tableware with brass or gold, and takeaway paperware (great for no-fuss clean up), amongst others. Not to mention, peppermint spoons are the perfect little flavour additions for a hot cocoa bar. What’s more, I made a different version with white chocolate dipped spoons for guests as well.
I hope you are excited to have your own holiday party, and inspired by this post.
