The fashion tales blog

Welcome to FASHION TALES, an international food & lifestyle blog! What’s in it for you? If you’re looking for inspiration and style tips on food, wellness, herbalism, and home décor, then you’ve stopped at the right destination.

Don’t fret, if you’re a fashionista or beauty enthusiast, then you will also feel right at home. There’s something for everyone here: wonderful bits of luxury for the home, the inspiration for being the perfect host with entertaining concepts, from elegant (but approachable) party themes for the entertaining family to the provisional gastronome. But, who is @Ladyofashion? Better known as Madison. I am a globe-trotting lady of the city, I travel often for work but always eat well. I am also a former bespoke men’s tailor and ethical fashion business owner.

Background:

Currently, a commercial food photographer and recipe developer, I am also a clinical herbalist, who happens to still write a blog. You’ll find me planted mostly in either London or San Francisco, spreading my keen insight on health and wellness, style sophistication, photography, and more importantly, food recipes! With a career background in 18th and 19th-century costume design, being an award-winning menswear designer, and a professional wardrobe stylist, my design aesthetic is quite unique with an “outside of the box” mentality. I can attribute that to my multi-cultural heritage and residence in many diverse parts of the world, both have influenced my sense of creativity. This is what my blog is all about: I share my devotion to the joys of recipes, entertaining, wellness, and style with you as an enjoyable lifestyle and gift. Welcome to the site!

Activism:

When I am not writing, baking, or entertaining, you can find me taking action for the causes that I support. I have been a global advocate for children’s charities, and an activist for campaigns for human rights, feminism, environmental issues, as well as social and racial justice issues. I have worked with the following organisations: FARA (UK), The World Food Programme, Feed the Children, Wildlife Conservation Society, Planned Parenthood, Save the Children (UK & USA), Greenpeace, Feeding America, Gudrun Sjödén & Ivory For Elephants (SWE)-IFE, Breast Cancer International (Tommy Hilfiger), and Glamulet for Breast Cancer Awareness, amongst many others.

Work & Blogging:

I have had the pleasure of working in various facets of the fashion and creative design industry, including international content marketing, event styling (weddings, commercial campaigns, home décor styling shoots), and public relations. My press work includes interviewing and collaborating with award-winning designers, top models, and Fortune 500 brands who have shown at Paris Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, Berlin Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week. Additionally, I have worked with designers and companies regularly gracing the pages of Vogue, Wired, Forbes, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Schön!, and other global publications.

For many of my brand partnerships, I have proudly been their first blogger and influencer (which has opened the eyes of those brands to understand how vital collaborations can be), leading brands and clients to implement an ambassador programme that did not exist prior to me collaborating with them.

I am a former international fashion journalist & correspondent for New Zealand-based global fashion magazine “Lucire.” I have been a contributor to Domino magazine (US), have written for “OUCH!” magazine (UK), and have contributed to Details
magazine (US) in the past. I was also a fashion writer and features writer for the previous
“Tellus Fashion” (UK) celebrity & fashion magazine, as well as the San Francisco-based international fashion magazine “Astonish” Magazine (US), in addition to other publications.

Love, light & caffeine,
Madison b.
