This mocktail is refreshing and beautifying, it’s made with butterfly pea flower (Clitoria ternatea) and Schisandra/Schizandra berry (Schisandra chinensis), both ancient herbs used in Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine. This is filled with nourishing ingredients with restorative effects, to support hair, skin, hormones, and immunity system, amongst many other benefits.

Vibrant Mocktail 

Ingredients: 

1/2 teaspoon butterfly pea flower powder 

240 ml (1 cup) iced tea 

240 ml (1 cup) sparkling water, chilled (or kombucha), more if needed 

120 ml (4 Oz) Schisandra-raspberry simple syrup 

60 ml (2 Oz) fresh lemon juice 

orange slices, for garnish 

 

Yield: Makes 2-4 servings 

 

Special equipment: Coupe glasses, cocktail shaker with lid, jigger, spoon, mesh strainer, or julep strainer. And mixing glass (optional). 

 

Method: 

  1. 1. Mix everything except the sparkling water in a shaker filled with two or three extra-large ice cubes.  

  1. 2. Shake well for 20-30 seconds.  

  1. 3. Strain and fill glasses just over half full. Then, top off with sparkling water.  

  1. 4. Garnish each glass with an orange slice.

Notes: Substitutions:  

1. Feel free to use the same amount of simple syrup with raspberry jam, if you don’t have Schisandra berries.  

2. You can freshly brew tea if you don’t have iced tea already available.
